The iconic Ozzfest festival is gearing up for its return in 2027, marking a significant moment for heavy metal fans around the globe. Co-founded by the late Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon in 1996, the festival will kick off with a one-day event at the National Bowl in Milton Keynes, UK, on July 10. This revival comes after the passing of Ozzy Osbourne, who left a lasting legacy in the music world.
Promoter Live Nation has confirmed the Milton Keynes event, which replaces earlier plans for Villa Park in Birmingham due to ongoing construction. Sharon Osbourne expressed her commitment to keeping Ozzfest alive, stating that it will always hold a special place in Ozzy’s legacy. The festival is known for showcasing both established acts and emerging talent, having launched the careers of bands like Slipknot and Limp Bizkit.
Following the UK date, Ozzfest will continue with a performance at Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino, California, on September 11, and a show in Mexico City at Estadio GNP Seguros on September 18. The festival’s return is highly anticipated, especially given its storied history and the impact it has had on the metal scene.
Special ‘Early Bat’ tickets for the Milton Keynes event will go on sale on November 6 at 10 AM UK time, allowing fans to secure their spot at this monumental comeback. Ozzfest originally began as a response to Ozzy being denied a slot on the Lollapalooza lineup, and it quickly evolved into a platform for heavy metal artists worldwide.
Despite challenges in the past, including issues with management and profitability, Sharon Osbourne has always believed in the festival’s potential for revival. With plans now in motion, Ozzfest is set to once again celebrate the spirit of heavy metal and introduce new talent to the scene.
